So while 2020 was a tough year in my ways, with it allowed me to find inner peace. It allowed me to feel comfortable in my genes.

We had just moved back to Opelousas, Louisiana from Highland Park, Illinois when this photo was taken of my brother, Glenn and me with our maternal grandfather Louise.
Mom decorated our aluminum Christmas tree with only blue, round bulbs. It was so simplistic which I can now appreciate.
There was a time I liked to wash dishes. That was when I was quite young and had to stand on a chair in order to wash the dishes.
After a few seconds I realized she said “mama, I love you”. A few nights after she said “I la lu”, she said “mama, I ra ru”.
