In looking at these photos, there are two things from the photos and the time period that I remember. And in looking at the dates printed on the photos, I was about twenty-one months old!
First thing I remember is Papa Bodin coming home with the swing set in the photos. Mom, my brother Glenn and I had moved in with Papa and Momo while dad was stationed in Germany while in the Army.
Second thing I remember is the outfit I am wearing in the photos. When we moved in with Papa and Momo, I went through a bunch of clothes at momo’s looking for that outfit. We had apparently made a visit home shortly before moving back and knew I had worn that outfit while there on a visit and wanted to wear it. I probably wasn’t talking much at that time so momo may have had a hard time figuring out what I wanted.
For those of you who may know where the Council on Aging is in Opelousas, the shell road in the photos was behind their building. There are still some remnants of the shells behind Council on Aging.
